Description: This recent find is from the Estate of a Hobby and Antiques Store Owner and is a piece of Unique Ephemera from 1799. This ORIGINAL Antique Letter certifies the votes from FAIR HAVEN for the VERMONT'S GOVERNOR and LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ELECTIONS. See Picture 12 at very bottom "a copy of which is lodged with the Town Clerks." Votes were certified at a FREEMAN MEETING. Gubernatorial Candidates were Isaac Tichenor and Israel Smith. LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR Candidates listed are Paul Brigham, Nathaniel Niles, Stephen R. Bradley II and James Witherell. Letter came from the Estate of JOSEPH ADAMS, who was President of FIRST NATIONAL BANK of FAIR HAVEN, VERMONT. The Hobby and Antiques Store Owner had a full box of ephemera from the Joseph Adams Estate. In addition to being the President of the First National Bank mentioned, he was also a prominent wealthy businessman including lumber and stone (marble and slate). Letter is in Very Good shape for age and measures approximately 7.25"L x 7.5"W.
