Description: It features a very medium and rare antique Yoruba wood carved fertility/maternity sculpture statue with multiple figures. Shows a mother with her children in her arms and by her side. Handmade and carved from dark grain wood in Nigeria. There is incredible detailing on the head and torso area, and the large size of this piece commands attention in any room; centerpiece and museum worthy. In good pre owned condition with wear present; hairline vertical crack on the torso; break on one of the arms of children; minor discoloration throughout along with minor scuffing; none of the cracks or breaks have compromised the strength of the sculpture; it is solid. The piece has a slight wobble due to the uneven base. All wear is consistent with the vintage and common for these sculptures, and the statue shows beautifully overall. Please see the photos.
