Three achievement awards were presented at the annual Founders' Day dinner of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin Saturday night at Madison. From left are D.C. Everest, Wausau, President of the State Society and Chairman of the Board of the Marathon Corporation; Robert S. Hunt, Chicago attorney; District Attorney John Bosshard, La Crosse; Lewis C. French, Milwaukee Journal reporter and Clifford Lord, Madison State Society Director. Everest presented a $1,000 check to Hunt for the best 1952 economic history of Wisconsin. Bosshard accepted an award on behalf of the La Crosse County Historical Society for sponsoring a history of that city. French accepted a citation on behalf of The Journal for the paper's reporting of historical events and farm news, WisconsinPhoto measures 10.75 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 02-02-1953.
