Description: This program was published for game #s 1, 2, and 6 at Comiskey Park after the Go-Go White Sox had just won their first AL pennant since 1919. For those of us who lived in the Windy City back then it was a glorious time to be in Chicago (unless, of course, you were a Cubs fan).Early Wynn won the Cy Young Award for the Sox in '59 back when this award was not given to a pitcher in each league like it has been since 1967. And second baseman Nellie Fox was the AL MVP that year. Big Klu hit 2 homers in game one on the South Side as the Sox shut out the Dodgers eleven zip. But Sherman Lollar tried to score from first base on a double by Al Smith (ignoring Tony Cuccinello's signals for Sherm to stop at third) in game 2 and was easily thrown out at the plate. Dodgers won game 2 by a score of 4-3 and eventually won the Series in 6 games. It was their first title since moving to LA in 1958 and would go on to win 6 more in LA including what they did to the Yankees this year. The spine is tight and the front and back covers are secured to the staples in the spine. All pages are intact and there is no writing/ markings inside the covers. The front cover has words written near the upper left-hand corner (see photo). There is also some minor discoloring on the front cover (see photo). The program is unscored. We have been selling on eBay for over 25 years and our feedback rating is 100%. We stand behind the items we offer to our customers.
