Description: This 1998 P Washington Quarter displays what I find to be an Extremely Rare & Interesting mint error on the reverse of the coin. I initially noticed it without any magnification, but found the details even more intriguing with magnification. In viewing closely, it clearly shows a line (possibly a die break or clash) that starts just above the eagleβs left claw (around the ankle) and it extends down through the leaves, all the way to the bottom of the first L in the word DOLLAR. Making it appear as if the eagleβs left claw is secured/tied to the letter L. In the magnified photos, I outlined it in Red & Black for a clearer outline/view. Iβve done extensive research, and cannot find any info or official documentation regarding this mint error coin, being recognized as a documented error coin, or certified variety example. This example is in good circulated condition, with some minor visible circulation wear, including some small visible scratches on the obverse, and the stated die error on the reverse. ***THIS COIN IS A DEFINITE MUST SEE*** ***See all photos listed. Any variations of color other than the original silver color of the coin, are due to the coin microscopic screen reflecting during photographing. This quarter has not been Professionally graded, or examined by an Attribution Specialist to date. Possibly a new discovery?? You could be the lucky person to find out!! Thanks for looking!!
