Description: This charming silver plate stand originally held a small oval glass or porcelain liner placed in the leaf pronged bowl situated behind the chariot. It sits on 4 raised feet with a classic medallion pattern along the rim. Above is a cherub riding a chariot being pulled by a swan. The design is whimsical and charming. The stand is marked as made by the Aurora Silver Plate Manufacturing Company (formerly the Chicago Silver Plate company) which was founded in 1869. For the following 50 years, until 1919, the company manufactured silver-plated goods that were sold all over the country. The stand measures approximately 4.5 inches high and sits on a 5.75 inch by 3.75 inch base. There are scratches and wear to surface consistent with age. The item(s) are antique and sold as is/as found unless otherwise noted. Because they are old, they were used and will not look new or new-like. They likely show wear, fading, scratches, chips, cracks, past repair/restoration, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. Significant issues are shown in photos. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
