Description: Wonderful original antique mahogany dressing / shaving / vanity mirror. Bow front 3 drawer box case with unusual oval mirror above. Drawers are dovetail mahogany with pine hand planed bottoms. Exceptional craftsmanship. Everything is tight and unmolested with original finish, glue blocks, glass, brass hardware. The inlay work looks to be light colored fruit or holly and a dark colored ebony. With exception of a few scratches, dings and veneer chips on mirror surround this piece is in very nice condition. The legs supporting mirror are tight.The case annd drawers are tight. The drawers operate smooth as butter. Appears to be a great example of a very talented early cabinetmaker. One foot may have been reglued with original blocks. Maybe Newport. Measures about:: 25 inches tall by 18 inches wide overall. Mirror is about 18 inches tall by 12.5 inches wide. The 2 outside drawers measure about 4 1/8 inches wide and the middle drawer measures about 8 inches wide. Height of cabinet is about 4 inches and feet are about 1/2 inch. The drawer sides and back are only about 1/8 inches thick. Very delicate but sturdy dovetails. Amazing condition for its age.
