Description: Antique Pair of Mexican Charro Spurs, Heavy Iron Western Spurs. The Mexican word Charro means horseman or cowboy. These are amazing spurs made of iron with aluminum 8-point rowels. The spurs weigh in at a 1.4 pounds each (perspective, todays spurs weigh around 6oz each), they have a large 4”- 8-point rowel, they have a 3” shank and the heal band / yoke has about a 3¼” spread. The spurs have a 1” outer button & ¾” inner strap button. These are a two piece constructed spur, the head band and shank are made separately then welded together. We have not cleaned these (only dusted them off) they are as found, with dirt on the rowels. Circa, 1880-1900 Condition, very solid, with surface rust. There is one spot by the strap button that shows a crack this is a void in the cast not a crack (as show in picture). Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
