Description: Please email with any questions. Antique brick with impressed mark REYNOLDS BLOCK, 8 1/2" by 4" by 3", glazed on the face and the back. According to the Pack Memorial Library website in Asheville, "Sheriff D.L. Reynolds, Buncombe County Sheriff from 1888-1892 and later county tax collector, had a brick plant which made these blocks. The 1883 city directory lists his plant near Camp Patton, referring to the location of the Thomas Patton house on Charlotte Street; circa 1896 the plant was “Buttrick & Reynolds.". These bricks were often used to pave city streets.
