Austin Healey sprite MG midget 948 smooth case rebuilt transmission gearbox

Description: Here we have a fully reconditioned Austin Healey Sprite or MG Midget 948 engine 4 speed, "smooth case" gearbox. This fits the MK1 and K2 sprites with the 948 engine and the MG midget cars from 1959 to 1962. It does not fit the 1100 and 1275 engine cars after that as they use the rib case type transmission. This transmission was completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected. All the normal wear items - seals, gaskets, bearings, layshaft, circlips, etc. were replaced with new. This also has new detent springs in the 1st/2nd and the 3rd/4th hubs, a new reverse idler gear. All other parts were checked for proper clearances and condition. The unit was reassembled and re-clearanced to factory specs. The unit was then bench tested for function. We are selling this outright, with no core exchange required. This is sold without the shift lever and attachment parts, and the clutch fork and bolt. You reuse these parts from your old transmission. All our work comes with a one year warranty.
