Description: This is a Commodore SFD-1001 floppy disk drive. Unlike the common 1541 disk drive, the 1001 drive could store 1000K on a floppy disk instead of 170K; and its parallel interface transferred data eight times faster. In the mid-80's, it was quite a thrill to see "4133 blocks free" instead of "664 blocks free"! For reasons unknown to only those in Commodore Engineering, they chose to go with the 1541 instead of this, a vastly superior drive. What's in the box? - Commodore SFD-1001 floppy disk drive. - Quicksilver IEEE-488 adapter. Plugs into cartridge port of Commodore 64. - Manual for Quicksilver adapter. - SFD-1001 test/utility disk. NOTE: The Quicksilver adapter requires a jumper cable connection to a pin on the Commodore 64 motherboard. This jumper clip attachment is missing, and will need to be repaired by the purchaser for the adapter to fully function. You can see the end of the jumper in the fourth photo - it is the white cable coming out on the bottom left of the adapter.
