Construction D’Angelico’s Excel 175 is a curvy single-cut guitar that serves up searing humbucking tones. The Maple body is a classic appointment favoured for semi-hollow guitars for its durability. 5-ply binding and a pinned rosewood bridge tops it off in true luxury style. The multi-piece neck employs a strip of walnut set between solid maple. This adds an edge to the maple/humbucker combination with extra top-end brightness, great for lead playing clarity. On top is a lush Rosewood fingerboard. Hardware & Electronics The twin Kent Armstrong pickups serve up a cool, gutsy snarl from their alnico V magnets.
