Native in the Oregon Cascades South through California. Will tolerate extremes in temperature, moisture and grow well in areas of supreme drought. Hardy in USDA zones 5-8. Ideal for hedges, windbreak, screen, lining a driveway, or as an ornamental planting. Great for wildlife shelter, erosion control and decay resistant lumber with a spicy fragrance. Branches are used in Christmas wreaths. Available in packages of 1 to 100 trees. Needs a very well draining soil, especially in containers.
