The box is in the shape of an egg with a flat base marked in hand writing under glaze. The egg is white in color with the top having a painting of two silver bells with a blue ribbon in the form of a bow and flowers all around. The box is decorated with a pair of blue flowers with smaller red flowers around them on both sides of the bottom half. The box has a hinged lid with a brass thumb piece is the shape of a bow. The hinge is equipped with a flattened spots to serve as a stopper for the box's lid when opened. The top is mostly white with very colorful floral painting. This is a very interesting box with a hinged lid, which we believe served as a wedding favor sometime in the past. Both top and bottom of the box are fitted with brass frames at the edges with a hinge on the back and a locking thumb piece attached to the front of the top portion. The inside of the box is white in color with both halves having a drawing of leaf design, blue in the bottom and red in the top half. This is a very nice piece from Limoges France, made by Parry Vieille to add to your collection of small trinket boxes. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Unknown, but most likely sometime in the 1970s or 1980s, possibly earlier. Origin: Made in Limoges France. Size: The box measures ~1 5/8" long, ~1 1/8" wide, ~1 1/4" high, and weighs less than one ounce. Maker: Parry Vieille. Marks: Marked on the bottom with the words "Limoges France; Paint main, P. V." in black cursive lettering under glaze. Condition: The box is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or crazing. The box is clean, with minor soiling along the foot of the base, and the hinge is intact.
