Description: This is a Marshall Wells Co plaque made out of cast iron with baked on enamel. The Marshall Wells Hardware Company was started in 1892 when A.M. Marshall bought controlling interest in Chapin Wells Hardware company in Duluth. He changed the name from the Chapin Wells Hardware Company to the Marshall Wells Hardware Company. Sometime late in 1916 or early 1917 the the name was changed to just the Marshall Wells Company and the hardware part was dropped. *This plaque may have belonged on one of their stoves they manufactured, or perhaps it belonged on one of their buildings. I don't know. The picture is from one of their early catalogs; it is not included (it is in this eBay listing for reference purposes only.) Cast iron plaque measures approx. 5-7/8" Long x 3-1/4" High x 3/16th" Thick. Item is in PRE-OWNED condition. It has some soiling and on the backside; it has rust oxidation. No chips in the enamel. See pictures for details and condition. Pictures taken with and without flash. Ask questions before you bid/buy. Allow up to three business days for handling.
