Description: This old vintage doll is a treasure of a find. It came from an Estate sale that had numerous paleo to newer antique Native American items. For collectors of Native American artifacts, especially this hand made by an Inuit artist, the mother doll, papoose on one arm and a trapped seal on the other, is a fantastic find. The seal's eyes are small sewn beads. The papoose front opening is small sewn beads and the little female baby has a sewn decoration (maybe a flower) also made from beads. All three are hand stitched from Caribou fur. It is a beautiful true representation of Inuit culture. Its unique design and intricate details make it a valuable addition to any collection. The doll has been well-preserved and is in excellent shape. It is a rare find for anyone interested in Native American artifacts. I see see a couple of very small areas where the fur is worn. On the back of the seal some of the stitching is pulled. Mother doll is approximately 10 1/4" in height. Papoose is approximately 4 3/4" in length, not including the tanned leather strap, and the seal is approximately 6 1/4" in length.
