Description: Please take the time to read through my entire item description and view all the photographs. I consistently prepare accurate and detailed descriptions and provide clear close up photographs for all my listings. The aforementioned notwithstanding, note the photos are still the biggest and most important part of this or any description. As the old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words". If you would like additional photos or have specific questions just message me and I will respond ASAP. For your consideration is this handsome and rugged, TESTED and WORKING, preowned, gently used, VINTAGE 1972 MEN’S stainless steel SEIKO AUTOMATIC 17 Jewel day/date No. 7006-8007 wristwatch. According to the Seiko serial number decoder website, this watch was manufactured in “OCTOBER 1972”. See description photo #17 to confirm the Seiko date data search results I described. I am the original owner and purchased this wristwatch brand new back in the day and wore religiously for years up until the day I retired and figured out real quickly I no longer needed to keep track of time…LOL This SEIKO is a quality made wristwatch manufactured by the Seiko Watch Company in Japan. I tested the watch for a minimum of 4 days prior to preparing this listing and found it to be fully functional. The day and date function “rolled-over” nightly to reflect the correct day and date and the watch maintained proper time throughout the duration of the test period. The aforementioned notwithstanding, given the fact the watch’s internal movement is 53 years old, I cannot attest to its long-term functionality and think it would be prudent and reasonable to assume the time piece is overdue for an internal cleaning and tune-up. The wristwatch and band are both stainless steel and weigh approximately 3.0 ounces. The watch measures approximately 1-10/16" long by 1-2/16" wide and 5/16" thick. The watch dial face is round and measures approximately 1-3/16" in diameter. With the wristband “closed” and laid flat, the watch measures approximately 3.75” long and when the band is opened and laid flat measures approximately 5.50” long. Please refer to description photos #18, #19, #20, #21 and #22 to confirm the weight and size dimensions and for more details about what I have described. The watch features a 12-hour dial face with stick indices that glow in the dark. The watch crystal is glass and has no chips, cracks or damage. As can be confirmed in the description photos, the glass remains clear and transparent but does have light surface scratches from honest age and normal wear. The watch dial face has (4) four lines of product information that simply read as follows below, Refer to description photos #12 and #13, #17, #18, #19 and #21 for more details about what I have described. “SEIKO” “AUTOMATIC” “17 JEWELS” “JAPAN 7006 – 8009R” The back of the case is stamped with the below information. Refer to description photos #9, #10 and #11 to verify the information and for more details about what I have described. “STAINLESS STEEL 7006 – 8007 WATER RESISTANT” “SEIKO” “205125” “JAPAN-M” The watch features a beautiful stainless steel hidden fold clasp bracelet that keeps the band securely on the wrist. The surfaces of the stainless steel case, bezel, wristband and clasp closure are all shiny smooth with minor surface blemishes and scratches from honest age and wear over the years. Refer to all the description photos to confirm the overall condition of the stainless steel and for more details about what I have described. Overall, this genuine vintage Seiko wristwatch has been a very dependable time piece. It has maintained its simple elegance and nostalgic charm over the past 50+ years and still looks and works great. This vintage wristwatch projects strong confidence and professionalism and will certainly elicit many compliments from those who see it. Please look at the photos closely as they accurately depict the vintage Seiko wristwatch I describe and show exactly what you will receive if you purchase this piece.
