Description: Superb Le Tallec Paris Porcelain Matching Pair of Perfume Bottles 1950's A genuinely superb pair of matching porcelain perfume bottles by the atelier Camille Le Tallec of Paris (taken over by by Tiffany's in 1991). Both bottles are of rectangular form with matching rectangular stoppers. They each feature two beautifully hand-painted floral displays on white gilt-bordered panels with further gilt swags and florals on a pale green blue ground. They really are stunning pieces of hand-painted decorative porcelain. The base of each bottle is signed 'LT' for Le Tallec and between the two letters 'LT' is the date code 'HH' for 1957 (when Le Tallec was producing his most beautiful pieces and shortly before he started collaborating with Tiffany's - see below). The artist's initials are YP. The written text on the base of each bottle reads 'Dessiné et peint entièrement à la main par Le Tallec à Paris' which translates as 'Painted entirely by hand for Le Tallec of Paris'. These are really beautiful collector's pieces. One bottle is in superb condition with no damages and little to no wear to the gilt decoration. Unfortunately the second bottle has been impact damaged and repaired. It looks like the bottle has probably been broken into two pieces with the shoulder and neck of the bottle removed from the main body. This damage has been reasonably well repaired and there are signs of restoration to two of the four corners at the shoulder of the bottle. There is also a subsequent vertical hairline crack running down the far right hand side of one of the floral panels. Note: Pricing reflects condition (one bottle is priced at £250 and the second bottle effectively at £50). Each bottle is 11cm tall (with stopper), 7cm wide, 5.5cm deep and weighs 162g. Le Tallec took over the family-owned hand-painted porcelain studio in 1930 and over the next 30 years created fantastic pieces of porcelain for clientele such as Queen Elizabeth II and King Hassan II of Morocco. In the 1960's Le Tallec started collaborating with Tiffany's of New York which led to the eventual takeover by Tiffany's in 1990. He was also a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur appointed in 1976 by Edgar Faure, then president of the French National Assembly. Le Tallec died in 1991.
