Description: An Amazing work of history, this is a complete, original edition of the 1907-1914 set of "The Catholic Encyclopedia: An international work of reference on the constitution, doctrine, discipline, and history of the catholic church," published between 1907-1914 Appears to be signed by a contributor of volume 3 (please reference pictures) - No COA. This item is the complete set of 16 volumes (15 Volumes + 1 Index). The item is in hardcover binding, with marbled endpapers. Published between 1907-1914 by the Robert Appleton Company in New York. Volume 3 appears to be signed by one of the contributors of that volume, O'Brien, S., O.C. A nice set, better than traditionally found for this age. Volumes 1, 10, 14, and 15 have slightly more water damage to the outer edge of the pages, but the pages separate easily, and all text is unmarked by any of the damage. The rest of the volumes show some tanning of the pages, and may have very slight stiffening of the exterior edges of the pages, likely from humidity or past water damage. All of the text is legible and clean inside. There is no writing or markings on the text. These appear to be from a smoke free environment, and do not have any smell of smoke present upon inspection. The last 2 pictures are indicative of the worst of the damage. The two pictures of the inside are indicative of the condition of the pages throughout the volumes.
