Description: This fossil trilobite- Cornuproetus cornutus, is from the Middle Devonian, 390 million years ago, in Morocco. It is a relatively small trilobite, not growing much bigger than 1-2 inches at most. This trilobite measures 1.30 inches long (if straightened, the pygidium is tucked under, but still visible).and 0.99 inches wide (genal spine to genal spine). The grayish/brown matrix and trilobite, measures 2.33 inches by 3.34 inches by 1.1 inches. Well-preserved Holochroal lenses are present in both eyes. There is a repair running across both genal spines and thorax.. In the trilobite- collecting world this is not a detriment. Trilobites are found by smashing open rocks- and the specimen often gets broken as a result. It is rare to find an entire, unbroken trilobite. And if one is found, they usually are sold for a premium amount. Many sellers do not disclose that their fossils have been repaired as the repair is often very well done, and virtually undetectable. I believe in full disclosure. All of my specimens are guaranteed authentic and have been legally obtained.Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter
