Description: VINTAGE (1700s) IRON NAVAL BOARDING PIKE / BOAT HOOK HEAD W/MAKER'S MARK. This interesting piece of sailing combat history is almost 11" overall with a 3.5" spike. During its working life it would have been attached to a fairly long wooden handle. These were used as combination boarding hooks and fighting pikes during the sailing days of naval battle. It weighs 11.4 ounces, dates back to the 1700s and is in very good condition considering it's age and use. This is out of Leith Docks, Edinburgh, Scotland, from a naval maritime collection.
