Description: Wonderful deep violet coloured gem. Large Amethyst set in an Edwardian Style mount. Estimated 2.6ct Amethyst and a big Statement Solitaire Ring. The mount and band are crafted in 9ct Gold. A very Vintage Ring. The mount is almost like a hug. The open gallery showing the multi facets of this mixed cut oval gemstone. The gem has very minimal surface wear and is in very good used condition. There are deep clear hallmarks and stamps for a London Assay OFFICE. The year stamp is a little to tell it is either 1921 or 1971. This is why I am describing Edwardian style as I cannot be sure. I would guess the ring might be 1971 due to the amethyst cut, but again this is my guess, it could be 1920s. The ring is a size N. A lovely retro, Vintage piece minimal and classical design.
