Description: The Bundeswehr's iconic "moleskin" uniform first appeared in 1959, as a work uniform. However, it was leagues better than the wool combat uniform that showed up at the same time, and so, by 1965, moleskin became standard. It went through a few different iterations, before being replaced by flecktarn in the early 1990s. These jackets have become pretty hard to find on the surplus market, and for good reason - like everything else the Bundeswehr made, these are of extremely high quality, and are very comfortable to boot. Ideal as a light jacket in cooler weather, or a great item to add to your military collection. Unfortunately this jacket has some sort of ink stain on the front and the upper left sleeve. The epaulet buttons have also cracked with age, but are still there. 42" chest with a 25" sleeve. There is also a large "A" stamp inside, but this is very typical of German surplus - it was applied by the Bundeswehr to show that the item had been removed from their inventory and sold as surplus. This jacket was made in October 1983. -------- I am a longtime collector of Cold War military equipment. However, as the need to pay for grad school looms on the horizon, I am now selling off a good portion of my collection. Follow me to see my latest listings, and grab some fascinating history (and other stuff) at great prices! I am a collector more than a salesman, and so I'm quite happy to do whatever I can to ensure that you get what you're looking for. I'm always happy to combine shipping! Unfortunately eBay makes that process difficult sometimes, but if you can't request an invoice, go ahead and buy what you want and I will refund the difference!
